Websites for Biology

The following websites provide information and research relevant to the field of Biology:

  • Cells Alive: CELLS alive! represents 30 years of capturing film and computer-enhanced images of living cells and organisms for education and medical research. The site has been available continuously and updated annually since May of 1994.
  • Cornell Lab of Ornithology: A world leader in the study, appreciation, and conservation of birds.
  • Gray's Anatomy Online: The Bartleby.com edition of Gray's Anatomy of the Human Body features 1,247 vibrant engravings-many in color-from the classic 1918 publication, as well as a subject index with 13,000 entries ranging from the Antrum of Highmore to the Zonule of Zinn.
  • Integrated Taxonomic Information System: Provides taxonomic information on plants, animals, fungi, and microbes of North America and the world.
  • Learn Genetics:  Information on genetics, bioscience and health from the Genetic Science Learning Center, University of Utah.
  • National Research Council Canada:  Government of Canada's leading resource for research, development and technology-based innovation.
  • PLoS Biology: is an open-access, peer-reviewed general biology journal published by the Public Library of Science (PLoS), a nonprofit organization of scientists and physicians committed to making the world's scientific and medical literature a public resource. New articles are published online weekly; issues are published monthly.
