To get started:

1.  Download Zotero (free)
2.  Sign up for a free account
3.  Download the Zotero connector for your browser (works for Chrome, Firefox, Safari & Opera).  This will allow you to add items to your Zotero 'Library' with 1 click
4. Sync your account. Login to your "desktop" version of Zotero with the information you used to create your Zotero account. 
5. Start adding citations!
