Library of Congress Call Number Classification

The materials in the Angus L. Macdonald Library are organized by the Library of Congress (LC) Classification System so that material on similar subjects is shelved together. Each item is given a subject heading that corresponds to a call number which identifies the location of the item on a shelf. Call numbers consists of letters and numbers, and are arranged on the shelves in alpha-numeric order.image showing where call numbers can be found on books and online
