Welcome to the Angus L. Macdonald Library's workshops
Throughout the academic year, the library offers a regular rotation of online and in-person workshops on various topics related to information literacy. The workshops are open to all students, staff and faculty and can last anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour in duration.
They are designed to teach essential scholarly research skills; such as the ability to successfully locate, evaluate, cite and utilize credible sources. By attending one or more of our library workshops, students will learn how to best access library services and to navigate the increasingly complex academic publishing landscape.

Need help finding information? The library offers one-on-one consultations with subject librarians who can guide you through everything from shaping a research question to managing your data.
Every program at StFX has a liaison librarian who knows your subject area. They build collections, create subject guides, teach classes, and are available to help you with your assignments or research.
Find your librarian on this page, then fill out the form to book an online or in-person appointment. Librarians can also give tours for individuals or groups.
Librarians are available for drop-in help at the Research Help Desk. You'll find the desk on the Library's main floor across from "The Pit" and the orange couches. This desk is staffed during the afternoons, Monday to Friday from 1 pm - 4 pm throughout the regular semester.
